The shout: A Stratagem for Workers' Identity and Unity
The slogans shouted by a few are gradually taken up by the multitude and return to their source after circling through the city, giving each demonstration its own character.
Slogans that unite: "El pueblo, unido, jamas sera vencido!", (A people united will never be vanquished!), that indicate political affiliation: "Pueblo, consciencia y fusil, Mir, Mir, Mir!" (People, consciousness and rifle, Mir, Mir, Mir), and slogans inspired by a specific situation: "Hago cola, y qué? Aún soy en la UP" (I stand in line, so what? I'm still with the Popular Union!).
And then this brilliant inspiration, which certainly allows one to distinguish oneself from one's adversaries and from those who are indifferent: "El que no salte es momio!" (Anyone who does not jump is a reactionary!), and the entire avenue starts to sway, each person jumping on the spot, in order to express his convictions, and thus revealing the reactionaries, of course, but also the benevolent "bourgeois" paralyzed by embarrassment.
